AUSTIN, Texas – December 15, 2000 – Participants in the 2000 handegolf Invitational used Mother Hen Software’s tournament scoring system, handegolf, to compete in a Best-Ball-Of-Four event today. Golf Professionals from courses in California, Arizona, Texas, and Florida kept score and monitored their team standings in the event using handegolf’s real-time leaderboard.

Each team teed off at 10:30 a.m. CST. Using handheld scorecards configured for their home courses, scores and statistics were entered into the scorecard and uploaded to the leaderboard for all participants to view. Players were able to understand their position and adjust their game based on their standings.

“We really enjoyed the excitement that the real-time leaderboard provided. It was especially unique to compete with other clubs from around the country,” said Lisa Taggart, Head Golf Professional at PGA WEST.

“We were very pleased to showcase our solution,” said Greg Presley, co-founder of Mother Hen Software, “and the feedback from the courses has been overwhelmingly positive. Because of the success, we are planning a much larger event for Spring 2001.”
